Accounts Executive

We are looking for a young and energetic individual, good with numbers, has a passion for technology & hungry to learn. As the Accounts Executive, the Management will depend on your efficiency & accuracy in managing the company accounts and expect your regular professional advice on Company’s Cash flow.

You will need to maintain the books, coordinate and drive client billing with the Production Studio, participate, document and contribute in client meetings online. You will also need to master the art of keeping records at strategic meetings, understand key financial action points and follow up.

On a normal day, this role is largely office-based from Mount Lavinia, but will require travel to meet different internal and external stakeholders when called upon. You will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and punctuality is a must.

During the present curfew and lockdown period we expect you to avail yourself from 8.30am to 5pm and when required, contactable during the weekend and statutory holidays. Our studio team clocks in remotely and operates on a normal work routine, as such, until normalcy returns, we would expect you to be engaged with the team during these times to create customer invoicing, participate in client meetings/office meetings through web or con-calls to document and follow up on action items. You will also need to remotely monitor the timely progress of the studio team & follow up with clients.

Responsibilities

As Accounts Executive you will need to:

    • Maintain the book keeping records;
    • Provide the management reports;
    • Prepare customer billing;
    • Ensure customer billing is accurate and current;
    • Drive the Studio Team for timely project completion as per billing projections;
    • Recommendations & suggestions for strategic and operational improvements /changes;
    • Ensure timelines are met on deliverables;
    • Support the staff and teams in implementing improvements;

Working hours

Your usual working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with weekend work or extra hours as and when required. Therefore, we would expect you to have a flexible approach to working extra hours when the need arises.

What you need to bring

Qualifications

    • Fully qualified AAT (Minimum) or part qualified ICSAL/CIMA with mandatory minimum 2-years experience in relevant field (Experience in web-based IT company will be an added advantage)

Skills you will need

    • Ability to use relevant accounting software.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications is a must.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Committed, responsible and able to work under pressure on limited time frames with minimum resources.
    • Ability to carry out the work independently.
    • Analyze and prepare cash-flow projections and yearly budget forecasts.
    • Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements.
    • Basic ability to deal with Banks and other Financial companies.
    • To be directly involved and advise the management and company /projects/ quarterly financial decision.
    • Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach;
    • A good understanding of information technology;

Work experience

Minimum 2 years work experience as an Accounts Assistant or relevant area. Experience in a web development company will be a definite advantage
